Perpetual Thursday Ramblings, Rantings, Nonsense, and Bunk
Suicide, Rape... and Narwhals
Sunday, December 18, 2005
Well, for the most part my blog posts to date have been fun-loving acounts of my life, with very little opinionated items or news. Though I plan to keep posting about my life and having some fun, I've decided to get some news and opinions in with it.
Today, I've got a few articles for you, for sevral news sites...
Let's start with the BBC NEWS artic
le "
Swiss hospital to allow suicide." Wow, now there is a fun title. Now I mainly want to note the last part, "...
in order to respect the wishes and independence of patients assisted suicide should be permitted in exceptional cases, but that it should never become a routine procedure." Let's be honest: you let it in, it's in. Suicide is going to become a routine procedure, almost certinaly, now that thev'e decided to allow it. They are opening the door, also, to full scale euthanasia. They may pretend not to know it, but they do; or, if they really don't, then are they the kind of brilliant people you want in charge of your life? I doubt it.
Now for an article from WorldNetDaily,
"
11-year-old's rape swept under rug?" Wow, it's one thing for PP to think they are above the law, (and heck do they) but this is completely outrageous. They
letter refered to in the article is worth a quick read, as it is a wonderful depiction of what the future society, under PP's direction, might be. Now you should note that the page on PP's site really is gone, and then when viewing the letter you are using the
WAYBACK machine, which allows you to view old pages. Wow, that letter is great. Parents, don't you want your kids to be like that?
Ok, now for a great one:
http://www.usccb.org/movies/b/brokebackmountain.shtml This is a movie review from the US Conference of Catholic Bishops. Read it carefully. Yes, they say it is Morally Offensive. That's not the point. The point can be seen by reading this part at the end: " While the actions taken by Ennis and Jack cannot be endorsed, the universal themes of love and loss ring true." Now if you ask me, that's an endorsement of the movie. Not 'their actions,' but the movie. Aren't you glad to know the church here is in such good hands? (Note: I'm not railing on ALL bishops in the US/world, so don't take it that way.)
Ok, now to scare you:
Mice with human brain cells created. YIKES! That probably scared you before you even read the article. Great, isn't it? Now we can kill babies to expermient on MICE. I'll say no more on that for the moment, as the horror of it should speak for itself.
Now, I'll wrap up with something a little more cheerful, this artile on the
National Geographic: Narwhals: Arctic Whales With Super-Sensing Tusks. Now That's a nice article! Few animals are as great as a Narwhal, which makes them great fun to read about. Check out all the pictures, those tusks are amazing!
That's all I have for now, so until next time, may all your thursdays be perpetual...

Okay:
The assisted suicide thing is horrible, although not at all unexpected.
The next item....
and the next....
and the next....
and narwhals are very neat.
I feel like remonstrating you from putting news articles like this up on your blog, because this is the sort of thing I don't like reading. But I know that I'm wrong, and you're right. I should know about these things. It's wrong to hide from them.
Oh, Patrick, the thing that makes me the saddest about all these things is all the poor souls who will burn in Hell forever because of their actions. They need so many prayers. That, right there, is the most horrible thing about all your news items.
