The Pope on Judas
Friday, April 14, 2006
Papa Ratzi Post: Pope tells flock to humbly serve the poor and suffering: "ROME: The Pope recounted the biblical betrayal of Jesus by Judas, calling the apostle a double-crosser for whom 'money was more important than communion with Jesus, more important than God and his love'.

The Pope's traditional depiction of Judas came during his Holy Thursday homily, a week after the release of an ancient Egyptian text dubbed the gospel of Judas, in which Judas is portrayed not as Jesus' betrayer but his confidant, doing his will by handing him over to his enemies to be crucified."

I linked to this article for two reasons: 1) With all the Judas buzz going around, this is fairly prominent news. 2) Later in the article it mentions that the Pope also preformed the feet washing ceremony which I mentioned in my last post.
