Perpetual Thursday Ramblings, Rantings, Nonsense, and Bunk
Good News for IE Users
Monday, November 13, 2006
Recently Blogger Beta began allowing FTP blogs (i.e. blogs not hosted on blogspot.com) to switch to beta. Of course, I jumped at the chance and upgraded. The good news: I'm beta now. Not quite sure why I care yet, but I'm sure there is a reason. The bad news: I couldn't use the new blog layout system, because it only works on blogspot.com blogs. More good news: I've decided I don't care, because I like playing with the HTML code myself better. Even more good news: inspired by my sudden realization that I like hard-coding, I went in to my template and made a few nice changes!
1. The three column layout now works correctly in Internet Explorer. Of course, it still works in other browsers as well.
2. I've centered the copyright notice at the bottom, which makes it look nicer.
3. I've got an account set up with
SiteMeter, to pair with my registration in the
Truth Laid Bear Ecosystem. Hopefully this means that soon the spot that says "I'm a ___ in the TTLB Ecosystem" will have that blank filled in.
All of that was done today, though over the past few days I've make a couple of other additions as well, as some of you have noticed:
1. I've started using my registration with
Technorati and gotten a "Search This Blog" box and "Blogs that link here" button added to the right hand column. Hopefully these will be found useful.
2. I've added a "Search Catholic Blogs" box to the left hand column, from
CatholicBlogs.com. It allows one to search over 800+ Catholic blogs, witch I find rather handy.
3. I've added a poll to the top of the left-hand column, which I'll change every now and then, because I wanted to have a poll. Nuff' said there.
A few people have asked me why I haven't been blogging for a little over a week now, and the answer is simple: I've been busy. School work, my job, and several other things have been keeping me away. However, I'm wrapping up a few things now, so I should be back on track again soon.
One of my projects I'm working on right now, one that's been taking up almost all of my computer time, is The Greatest Book Ever. No, really, that's the title. The newest branch of DDS/AI Media, the corporate name for the company that runs Alternative-Internet.com and The File Project Studios (DDS/AI is not a big company, just 5 staff members) is now open.
Behold: The Red Parrot Publishing Company.
Nice name, huh?
This first book (which will actually be self-published
Lulu.com), The Greatest Book Ever, is to be a collection of all the best stories from Alternative-Internet.com from the years 2004-2006. This includes a few stories by me (including some of the entries from The Journal of Albert Skimberd), as well as stories from
Quezon (including his Adventures of Barg series), Michael Little,
Grant Herring, and
Emily Alexander. If all goes well, the book should be done and availible to purchase by Thanksgiving. At least, that's the goal.
Anyway, I'll be posting again soon, hopefully getting something in tonight or tomorrow, so until then, may all your Thursday's be Perpetual.
