On Sunday we had a family outing to Metamora for their 38th annual Canal Days, which are, in essence, a big flea market covering the entire town. There was tons of your usual flea market junk, as well asd an assortment of non-junk items. Amoung the non-junk items were singing magnets, something I'd seen in a catalouge before selling for $8.99, here selling for $3 a set. After hearing them go once, I was sold, and picked up a pair. Here's a photograph:

Nifty, aren't they? But what, you ask, do they do? Well, they sing. You seperate them in your hand, toss them into the air, and the come together with a delightful buzzing sound that reminds one of an insect. I've recorded the sound for your listening pleasure, so just click the play button to hear it (if you see a little circle, it just hasn't loaded yet, and if you see nothing, you need Flash):
Neat, isn't it? I'm really proud of it. It's the new offical Perpetual Thursday sound play... oh. We were talking about the magnet sound it was playing, weren't we? Well, that's neat too! One thing I've noticed, though, is that everyone seems to want to get their hands on these magnets. Then again, I can't blame them.
While you've got that little mention of Flash in your mind - have you seen the Monthly Lesson with Quezon yet? If you haven't, you should. Its not only our first real Flash movie, but its pretty funny, and somewhat educational.
